Call Rog ran out a convincing winner of a competitive final to the INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Handicap Hurdle Series at Fairyhouse.

Tony McCoy's mount was sent off 13/2 favourite in the three-mile event and was produced with a strong run in the straight.

The Mouse Morris-trained gelding challenged at the second last and went on before the final flight to post a five-length victory.

The winner was tackling three miles for the first time today having been placed on his previous three runs in handicap company.

“He's been running well on bottomless ground and the drier ground and trip was a big help today,” said Morris.

“He was running on at Gowran last time. He was paddling a bit on the ground but was staying on.

“I'll talk to the boss (JP McManus) and see how he comes out of this.”

Tony McCoy commented: "It's very trying ground and very testing. It's easy to ride horses that travel well.

"Mouse said he thought he would win. It's been about 10 years since he gave me a winner!"

Owner JP McManus added: "That's pleasing. It's nice to win a nice pot. AP said he was always travelling. Mouse is always the man for the big day."
