Rogue Passion ready for Fillies’ Mile test after form boost Rogue Passion is primed for her shot at the big league according to connections, who believe they can down the red-hot favourite Musical Times in the Bet365 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Friday. Tony Elliott, founder of the Rogues Gallery syndicate who own the filly, admitted the Ed Bethell-trained juvenile was facing the stiffest test of her career in the Group One contest. However, after the form of her ParisLongchamp win last time out was franked by the second, Amusingly, who went on to win the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and the third, Data, who was a head second in the Prix Marcel Boussac, Bethell’s filly should not be out of place in Friday’s contest. “The phone has been alight for her and we’ve had a few big offers now but we are one race away from a life-changing offer so we are going to take a chance,” said Elliott. “We wouldn’t have been that keen to take on Sun Goddess but I’m really keen to take on Musical Times so we will see what happens. She ran in France last time and the form could not have worked out better. “We were going to supplement for the Prix Marcel Boussac but she scoped dirty so we couldn’t go but she has scoped clean now and worked on Saturday and we are pretty sure she has improved. “Ed (Bethell) uses timing machines and she actually worked with another of our horses and we are pretty sure she has improved from her last run. We’ve got Rossa Ryan booked and it is all looking good. Win and we are in the big league.” Elliott, who is set to entertain 100 syndicate members at Newmarket on Friday, admitted a weekend in which they have representation in four Pattern races on the card could be their biggest raceday ever. Rogue Jewel runs in the Group Three Newmarket Academy Godolphin Beacon Project Cornwallis Stakes, Rogue Attraction will be pitched at the Listed Godolphin Under Starters Orders EBF Boadicea Stakes and Noche Clasica goes in the Group Three Newmarket Pony Academy Pride Stakes. “We are making a Rogue’s day of it. We have four nice horses running in Pattern races, all fillies, all with the same trainer and it is probably the biggest day for us as a syndicate,” said Elliott. “We could do with rain for all our horses but we think they all deserve their chances in their respective races. Noche Clasica runs in the Pride Stakes and we really believe she is a Group One filly, her form in the Atalanta Stakes has been boosted and we are taking our chance.”
