Trainer Philip Rothwell registered consecutive daily winners at Limerick's Christmas festival today as Cato's Revenge (10/1) landed the Grant Thornton Ladies Handicap Hurdle on handicap debut under jockey Phidelma Elvin.

The son of Notnowcato had previously finished a useful sixth in a Punchestown festival bumper in April and today, rated 109, scored readily from Alpesh Amin

Delighted Elvin reported “we had a question mark about the ground as it was the first time he had been on testing conditions but he seemed to like it and was impressive.

“Philip (Rothwell, in-form trainer) was confident but he can be confident these days! Philip has been so good to me, I work fulltime with him and thanks also to Mr Leckey (owner) who has been a great supporter of mine and the yard. Without owners like him we'd be lost.

“The horse is a big type, you'd like to see him over fences in time and it is onwards and upwards.”

Trainer Rothwell was previously successful yesterday with Phil's Choice at today's venue.
