The Willie Mullins-trained newcomer Beret Rouge looked a smart prospect when running away with the concluding bumper at Roscommon this evening.

Sent to post the 7/4 favourite the daughter of Big Bad Bob was kept out wide by Jody Townend and cruised into the lead two furlongs from home,

She quickened up stylishly when popped a question and galloped on powerfully inside the final furlong to record an impressive 12 length victory over Bavarian Girl

The winner is the first foal out of Pink Hat, who won two bumpers and two hurdles for the yard.

Townend said :- "She was very good. She was pretty uncomplicated and I couldn't get over the way she quickened up.

"She was working well, we were happy with her and she is improving all the time. She is still quite green and will definitely come on for it. She is only a handy filly so doesn't want to be stuck in it (ground-wise)."
