Royal reigns in Navan opener Treasured Royal justified favourtism in the opener at Navan for Gavin Cromwell and Robert Whearty. The Nando Parrado filly had been a promising fifth on debut at the Curragh and went to post 11/4 market leader in the auction series fillies maiden. She came to lead passing the two pole and kept on well in the closing stages to see off Silkie Sevei by three-parts-of-a-length. Cromwell said: "She was drawn on the wrong side in the Curragh, but she did run well. "Her work has been good all along and improving all the time. She went off favourite in the Curragh because we fancied her, I suppose. "I think there is still plenty of scope for improvement. She was a bit green there and got there plenty soon enough and rolled around plenty. I think in a better race she could be better again. She's one of those ones that just keeps improving week on week. Hopefully, she will keep doing it. "She will be for sale and whether that means she leaves the yard or goes away, I'm not sure. She is a nice filly that we would love to have for next year. She has loads of size and scope, and she's above average." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
