Russell to see specialist over ankle injury

Davy Russell faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected broken ankle in a fall at Listowel on Saturday.

The jockey suffered a fall from Napa Starr in the Croom House Stud Maiden Hurdle but his agent Andrew Kelly is uncertain how long Russell will be out of action for.

"They think he might have suffered a small break but there was a lot of swelling on the ankle on Saturday night so they're not 100% sure what's happened yet," said Kelly.

"Davy is going to see a specialist on Tuesday and we should find out a lot more then."
