Ryan Thrilled With Classic Contender Amadeus Wolf returned to the scene of his battling victory in last season's Middle Park Stakes when completing an easy seven-furlong workout before racing at Newmarket yesterday. The Kevin Ryan-trained colt worked under Neil Callan with an unnamed stablemate, ridden by Robert Winston, as part of his preparations for next month's Stan James 2000 Guineas.Ryan, who was on hand to welcome the pair back, was delighted to see Amadeus Wolf come through the latest stage of his Classic build-up without a problem.'All we've got to do now is try and keep him at 100 per cent,' said the trainer.'He's done a nice piece of work with a very good horse and it is lovely ground to work him on. Neil was delighted.'You don't want him to jump and run with the choke out when he comes back here and the idea is to take a bit of the freshness off him.'This is his second day away as I took him to Southwell on the first day of the turf season and he did another nice piece on the all-weather.'He's very forward in his coat and I'm happy with him. He is a very easy horse to get ready.'Amadeus Wolf is the 7-1 joint third-favourite with William Hill for the colts' Classic. ? PA Sport
