Grange Walk (6/1) was driven out by Danny Mullins to land the two and a quarter mile beginners' chase on Limerick's card.

The six-year-old gelding travelled into contention on the outer turning for home.

He came with his challenge to hit the front at the second last and a good jump at the final obstacle enabled Mullins to send him three and a quarter lengths clear of Eagle Moon (3/1jf). Nero Rock came in a further seven lengths adrift in third at 17/2.

Trainer John Ryan said: “He’s going to be a smashing chaser. He’s very scopey and Danny has loved him from the first time he schooled him.

“He’ll probably go for the 2m2f in Galway next. Two miles is his trip but he gets 2m2f no problem on good ground.

“He won his maiden hurdle and went close a few times last year. He’s a nice horse.”

This was Grange Walk's second start over fences - he was fourth on chasing debut at Tramore last month.
