Ryefield Dasher blitzes them off the front Ryefield Dasher (3/1) made all for Nicola Burns in the Roscommon Rated Race over the extended 10-furlongs. He was in receipt of plenty of weight from his four rivals and started to crank up the pressure with a quarter of a mile left. He was more than tough in front for Burns as he had his rivals in trouble at the furlong marker when the gap increased. There was no stopping Ryefield Dasher as he powered home by three lengths from a staying-on Royal Bones (8/1). Ryefield Dasher followed up on a victory in a Gowran Park maiden last month. Tom Gibney said: “I’m just delighted. It’s great when you find races like that. “It’s the same over jumps, I just love those novice rated races — those types of races. “He’s a horse that is progressing and we really like him. We knew he’d like the ground, we’d been waiting all season for an ease in the ground. “In fairness, we had all the advantages, we were getting a stone off the top couple. It really did suit us. “He’s such a simple horse. He’s quite versatile trip-wise and we know he gets further, it was two furlongs further the last time he ran here and he just got beat. “He goes on the better ground, he’s just better with an ease in it. “Nicola gets on great with him and she’s given him confidence from riding him last year as a two-year-old to early this year. “I’m very happy for Seamus and Geraldine (Kiernan). They are good supporters of mine and it’s great to get results for the people who have faith in you.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
