SALES UNDER THREAT Doncaster Bloodstock Sales are closely monitoring the foot and mouth outbreak to see if their sale scheduled for next month can take place. The next DBS sale is due to be held after racing at Doncaster`s Lincoln meeting on March 22nd and 23rd. A decision will be made next week whether to print the catalogue for the sale, which was due to be published on March 9th. DBS managing director Henry Beeby said: 'We are obviously keeping a watching brief at present and liaising closely with our veterinary advisors, Doncaster racecourse and, therefore, indirectly with the BHB, the Jockey Club and MAFF. 'We hope the sale will be able to go ahead as planned but, if racing is still off, the sale will be postponed until a later date.' The DBS team have cancelled all stud visits for the time being in an effort to ensure they do not inadvertently spread the disease.
