SAME MARK FOR BUSINESS

British Horseracing Board chase handicapper Phil Smith today elected to keep See More Business on a mark of 174 despite a runaway win at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The gelding remains behind ante-post Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite First Gold - who was rated 178 after winning the King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day - in the official ratings.

The 10-year-old`s forthright success in the Pillar Property Chase was fulfilling something of a prophecy from Smith who had said after his flop at Kempton: 'Don`t write off See More Business. He`s a very resilient character. Just when people think he`s finished, he comes back and proves people wrong.'

And Smith laughed today: 'It`s nice to be proved right for a change!

'I am not going to change his rating, he did exactly what I thought he could do. He had plenty in his favour, he goes well when ridden positively and he was ridden very positively.

'However it was only effectively a three-runner race so it`s hard to know exactly how solid the form is.'
