SANDOWN CALL FURTHER INSPECTION Sandown`s meeting tomorrow has passed a 2pm inspection but officials must check the course again tomorrow morning before the card gets the green light. Further rain is threatening the meeting which features the Weatherbys Scilly Isles Novices` Chase. Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said: 'We`ve passed the 2pm inspection but because of the forecast of further rain tonight we will hold another inspection at 7.30am. 'We have been dry since 8am but it is murky and overcast and not really a drying day. 'We would be okay to race today and we`ll just have to see what tonight brings. 'Up to and including 5mm of rain might be all right but beyond that we would start to have problems.' The going at the Esher track is heavy on the hurdle course; soft, heavy in places on the chase course. Bad weather has forced the abandonment of Sandown`s last four jumps cards and the loss of tomorrow`s card would be another major blow as it features a number ofCheltenham Festival hopefuls.
