SANDOWN MEETING ABANDONED Sandown`s card tomorrow has been abandoned due to waterlogging following an inspection this morning. Officials also decided that the hurdle course at the Esher track would not be fit for racing on the second day of the meeting on Friday either. But hopes are high that a six-race card on Friday combining the chases from both days can be staged. Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said: 'We`ve abandoned tomorrow and have taken the decision that the hurdle course will not be raceable on Friday either. 'We will proceed with the all-steeplechase option on Friday, adding the three chases from Thursday to the three on Friday, and I suspect that will be subject to an inspection some time tomorrow. 'We would be hopeful of racing on Friday. It has been frosty but dry. 'There is a chance of a weak front of rain from Thursday into Friday - nothing significant - and for it to be dry otherwise.' Tomorrow`s card is the 88th to be lost this jumps season.
