SUMMER GROUND DOUBT

Endless Summer, John Gosden`s unbeaten Richmond Stakes winner, will not run in the Group One Prix Morny at Deauville on Sunday if the ground becomes soft, it was announced today.

Teddy Beckett, racing manager to owner Khaled Abdulla, issued the warning in the light of a mixed weather forecast.

A maximum field of 11 will contest the French juvenile contest over six furlongs after five have been withdrawn.

They included Sir Michael Stoute`s impressive Princess Margaret Stakes winner and Lowther Stakes entry, Enthused.

The other withdrawals were Bouncing Bowdler (Mark Johnston), Lunasalt, the Irish colt Beckett, and Wooden Doll.

However, Bad As I Wannabe (Brian Meehan), Red Magic (Richard Hannon) and Ascension (Mick Channon), have all stood their ground at today`s stage.

Godolphin`s unbeaten July Stakes winner Noverre, trained at Evry by David Loder, spearheads the four home acceptors.

The others are the Prix Robert Papin second Iron Mask, the Group Three winning Crystal Castle and Cupercoy.

Aidan O`Brien has left in Pyrus, the one-length runner-up in the Richmond Stakes, and the impressive Independent Heinz 57 Phoenix Stakes hero Minardi.

Rolly Polly, the Italian winner of the Prix Robert Papin, has also stood her ground.

Daniel Wildenstein has reportedly acquired a 50 per cent stake in the unbeaten filly.
