Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning took the opener at Gowran Park with wide-margin winner Tobann and they repeated the dose in the extended nine-furlong fillies maiden as An Saincheann scored in equally emphatic fashion.

The Dylan Thomas filly was sent on by Manning approaching the straight, and she put the race to bed when asserting well over a furlong out.

The easy-to-back 9/4 chance was driven out to record a 13 lengths victory over 4/5 favourite Sharp Crisp Air with Lady Giselle (9/1) another two and three quarter lengths adrift in third.

Bolger said, “She’s a good mare and will go the black-type route. I think there’s some races now for four-year-olds and we’ll look at those. Hopefully she’ll go on from that. She was a big, backward filly and was just a late developer.”
