The winner of an older geldings' maiden at Quakerstown last month, Stanners Glen followed-up in the concluding Millennium Surveys Ltd Point-To-Point INH Flat Race.

Trained by Robert Tyner and well-supported from 12s to 7s, the Mount Nelson bay was settled in mid-division by Josh Williamson, taking closer order with over five-furlongs to go.

Gaining a narrow lead on the approach to the straight, the David Cotter-owned six-year-old was ridden with over a furlong to race and found plenty for pressure, ultimately coming home two-and-three-quarters of a length to the good.

Returned at 5/1, Only For Our Man made good late headway to take second under Stephen Connor for Stuart Crawford, while Minella Mania (15/2) was another length-and-a-quarter away in third.

A winner at Ballycrystal in March, Seeitoldya was sent off the 2/1 favourite, but he could only manage a disappointing eighth.

"He just took a small bit of time but his runs were nice," Tyner commented.

"It looked a competitive race he won in Quakerstown but being a six-year-old, he had to do more than win his point to point, so we said we'd come here. He will probably go to Doncaster Sales now.

"He is a very nice horse and wasn't cheap either (E42,000) - you don't 'rob' any horses too easily nowadays.

"He was in the same gallops as I'm Slippy (Fairyhouse Sales Bumper winner) and he stays with us to go straight over hurdles next season."

STEWARDS REPORT

Mr S. Connor, rider of Only For Our Man, trained by S.R.B. Crawford, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered around the bottom bend. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video evidence and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
