On his second start over flights, Samui comfortably dismissed his rivals in the Ballyduff Maiden Hurdle, completing an across the card double for his trainer Gordon Elliott.

Successful on his debut at Naas in February, the Allan Snow owned Siyouni bay then finished ninth of 20 in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree.

A runner-up on his first try over flights at Tipperary last month, he was widely-expected to go a place better this evening, going off the clear market leader at 2/5.

Always toward the head of affairs, he made a mistake at the second last but soon eased clear, coming home three-and-three-parts of a length to the good under Keith Donoghue.

The Ted Walsh-trained Ta Na La (9/2 from 8s early) came through to take second under Shane O'Callaghan, while Dark Note (13/2) was half-a-length back in third.

"He was just a little bit long at the second last and guessed at it. I had enough horse under me for him to stay standing and he won snug.

"He had a very good run the last day and I was confident coming here today. I'm not sure if he was in love with the track but his class got him through."

Elliott, who was recording his eighth winner of the week, was earlier successful at Down Royal with Shesadream
