Golden Sandbanks continued a rich vein of form when making it two from two over fences in the Leo McMorrow Memorial Novice Handicap Chase at Sligo.

The Paul Flynn-trained gelding was recording his third win in the last two months and was returning to chasing having been second over timber on his most recent outing at Bellewstown.

Sean Flanagan settled behind the leaders on the 11/4 favourite before moving up to challenge at the second last flight.

He went on from Alexharwill turning for home and stayed on strongly on the run-in to post a four-length win over Name Me Famous

The winner had won on his chase debut at Tramore last month having scored over hurdles in Limerick the previous month.

Flanagan said: "He's done it quite well and loved the ground. He's quite economical.

"Paul was saying beforehand that he has a look around and he still has that green aspect to him, he's had a little bit of a look at the first and second but he's got into a lovely rhythm then and he settled quite well today. There's no reason why he won't step up a bit more.

"It's great that I'm after hitting a bit of form and I've a good agent working for me now in Garry Cribbin, so hopefully I can keep the ball rolling."
