The Willie Mullins-trained Saylavee made an impressive start over jumps when running out an easy winner of the Gowran Park Racing Club Maiden Hurdle.

Danny Mullins moved up to challenge on the 6/5 favourite at the second last and she soon scooted clear from her rivals.

The daughter of Shantou went on to post a cosy 15-length success over The Mediator in the two-mile contest.

It was a hat-trick landed for the winner who had also claimed two bumpers.

“It was a good performance. She had been good in her bumpers and learned as the race went on today,” said the winning rider.

“She jumped very well at speed late on and hopefully she can step up on what was a nice bumper career. It looks like she's going to progress along from there.”

When asked if she would handle winter ground he added:- “It was a bit slower today than she's had in the past so it's definitely stepping in that direction. There's no reason to see why not from today.”
