Mark Scallan saddled his first winner under rules as Bonne Debut took division two of the Bar One Racing Bet In-Play Handicap Hurdle to complete a 142/1 double on the afternoon for rider JJ Slevin at Punchestown.

The well-backed 9/2 favourite stayed on well from the front inside the final half-mile to beat Lady L’lerom by two-and-three-quarter lengths.

There was a nine lengths gap back to Whatsstoppingyou with Mickey Shea completing the places in this three miles event.

Scallan said, “That’s my first winner on the track.

“She’s a grand mare and will tip away for the summer and hopefully pick up another one.

“She jumps and stays and chasing is probably going to be her game.

“I train in Cleariestown in south Wexford. I have three for the track this summer but they are mostly point-to-pointers.”

Slevin was also on the mark earlier with 25/1 chance Lucy Van Pelt
