Scorpion Handed Leger Mission

Scorpion is to be targeted at the Ladbrokes St Leger following his record-breaking success at Longchamp last week.

Trainer Aidan O´Brien revealed yesterday that the brilliant winner of the Grand Prix de Paris was now enjoying a well-earned holiday.

After that the Montjeu colt will be aimed at the final Classic of the season at Doncaster in September.

'He´s come out of the race really well and he´s earned a break now,' said O´Brien.

'He´ll be trained for the autumn. Obviously the St Leger is a nice race to go for. After that we´ll have to see.'

Scorpion is already as short at 6-4 favourite to give O´Brien his third triumph in the world´s oldest Classic.
