Scottish Champion Hurdle winner Anna Bunina registered an eighth success today at Killarney, landing the Listed Easyclean Tourist Attraction Hurdle for trainer John McConnell and jockey Simon Torrens.

The daughter of Poet's Voice claimed the Grade 2 Ayr feature race last month and was today competing just eight days after a fifth placing in Haydock's Swinton Hurdle.

Torrens raced the six year old mare with the pace and the pair battled to a length win ver Heia

Torrens said “I was chatting to John (McConnell) on the way down and my biggest concern was whether her run would come too soon but he said she was well. He does a great job and his son Cillian rides her out and texted to say she was in super form.

“She was good and game, stayed at it well and the ground is beautiful so full marks to Killarney too. I don't know if there are any other races for her or will they give her a break.”

He added “some birch went through her tendon a few years ago but John is a magician what he does with these horses and nursed her and got her back and sje has now had a great season. She has been a real flag-bearer for the stable this year.”
