Sean Cleary Trust Fund Set Up

A trust fund to raise money for the baby son of Sean Cleary, the apprentice jockey who died this month, has been set up with fund-raising activities due to start on Sunday.

Nominations to stallions Moscow Society and Bob Back will be sold as lot 2570 at Tattersalls (Ireland) November National Hunt Sale to benefit Sean Cleary jr, who was born when his father was gravely ill in hospital from injuries sustained in a fall at Galway that he would ultimately not survive.

Nominations to Choisir, Cape Cross and Captain Rio will be also be sold at Goffs next week.

Jim Ryan, the owner of Milltown Stud, is one of the organisers of the fund-raising exercise.

He said: 'We are calling this the Sean Junior Trust Fund and his mother Maggie Farrell wants it to be used for the benefit of her son rather than herself.

'We are also holding a fund-raising night at the Killashee Hotel in Naas on December 11. Hopefully we can raise enough money to take the boy through college.'
