Trainer Aidan O'Brien has lost none of his confidence in Albert Einstein ahead of his intended target at Royal Ascot next month.

A beaten favourite over 7f on his seasonal debut in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh, the three-year-old Wootton Bassett colt finished third at Newbury next time out.

Reverting to sprinting at that same track on Saturday, the colt pleased his trainer ahead of a tilt at the Commonwealth Cup.

O'Brien said: "I couldn't have been happier with the run. He's coming lovely. We were hoping that we'd get to this step and, this should have left him right for the next day. He goes to the Commonwealth."
