The first of a series of Trotting meetings over the coming months will be held at Dundalk on Sunday 12th June.

The meeting organised by the Irish Harness Racing Association (IHRA) will feature an Irish versus French drivers challenge and the day's events commence at 12:30pm.

Mark Flanagan, Chairman of IHRA said: “Having previously held two highly successful harness racing meetings at Dundalk Stadium in 2008 and again last September, we are delighted to return to this state of the art venue and showcase our sport over a series of five meetings."

"This first meeting has huge significance as the French governing authority for Trotting ‘Le-Trot’ is supporting the initiative of an ‘Ireland v France’ Challenge with six of the leading drivers in France competing against their Irish counterparts."

"This represents a very fine opportunity for the Irish Harness Racing Association to showcase their sport in Ireland and abroad over the coming five meetings.”

Senior Executives from Le-Trot and members of the Union Of European Trotting will be in attendance along with the French Ambassador to Ireland and the Culture Attache at the French Embassy. The meeting will also be televised to a number of international countries.

The remaining fixtures will take place on Sunday 17th July; Sunday 7th August; Sunday 11th September and Sunday 25th September 2016.
