Sesenta lands Ebor for Carroll and Mullins Sesenta (25/1) led home a 1-2 for Irish-trained horses in the totesport Ebor Handicap at York this afternoon when just holding off the heavily-backed Changingoftheguard in the 1m6f event. Gary Carroll, leading the Irish apprentice championship this season, enjoyed his biggest success to date as the Willie Mullins-trained mare denied the Aidan O'Brien-trained 15/8 favourite. Johnny Murtagh's mount was a bit slow out of stalls, and remained towards the rear until the straight. He was switched right to challenge about two furlongs out, and stayed on well in the closing stages. Mullins said afterwards, "She is a very small mare, and really we look to try and place her in good handicaps with a light weight. Gary gave her a great ride."
