Sharon Dunphy fined by Turf Club Trainer Sharon Dunphy who hit the headlines on Monday when her newcomer Like A Diamond was dramatically withdrawn at Ballinrobe by order of the Stewards is now out of pocket to the tune of €1,100 over a separate incident involving the governing body. Dunphy was referred to the Turf Club over her failure to return a passport for Don Vincenzo to either Horse Racing Ireland or the Turf Club having been requested to do so on a number of occasions. The issue arose due to a dispute between Ms Dunphy and the owner of the horse Pauric Byrne. The trainer was fined €600 for breaches of Rule 272 and Regulation R8 and ordered to pay a further €500 towards the Turf Club costs. Miss Dunphy will face another referral hearing over the Like A Diamond withdrawal as the stewards on the day at Ballinrobe considered her to be in breach of Rule 147 (vi) as the horse was not trained from her licensed training establishment.
