She’s Got Grit was the forecast favourite in the papers for the hunters chase at Tipperary, but her backers will get a nice surprise when they collect at 5/1.

Terence O’Brien’s hat-trick seeking mare hit the front two fences from home and got away from the last quickly which closed the door on any chance 11/4 favourite Ibetellingyoualie had. She won by a length.

This was a one-two for O’Brien. Long-time leader Adams Wood kept on for third place, nine lengths in arrears of the runner-up.

She’s Got Grit won a Bandon point-to-point in February and then doubled up in a hunters chase at Cork at the start of April. Richard Harding has been on board for all three successes.

Terence O’Brien said: “I only got her at the start of the season, but she’s the most straightforward mare to train and she hasn’t had a problem.

“She has plenty of experience and I’m delighted with her. She might go handicap chasing in the summer.”

On Ibetellingyoualie he added: “He only won his point-to-point this year and today’s run wasn’t a bad one as the winner is not too bad. I’m happy enough with him.”
