Shifting Power set for Windsor test Richard Hannon feels Shifting Power can reap the benefit of his seasonal reappearance last month when he lines up for the Listed Ladbrokes Royal Windsor Stakes at the Berkshire track on Monday evening. Hannon is convinced the colt needed his first run for almost nine months when third in the bet365 Mile at Sandown more than he thought. "Shifting Power is a big horse and he maybe needed his comeback run in the Group Two bet365 Mile at Sandown more than we had envisaged," the Marlborough trainer told his website. "He had been off since Glorious Goodwood last year and was a bit rusty, besides which he did not enjoy the ground, so, hopefully, he'll kick-start his season here." Hannon has a second string to his bow in Baltic Knight, who was fourth in this Listed contest over an extended mile 12 months ago. "We also run Baltic Knight, who was two places behind Shifting Power in fifth at Sandown," said the trainer. "He belied his odds of 25-1 there in running a blinder, and he is always a force to reckoned with in this grade, so we go there with two solid chances." Completing a select field of seven are Godolphin's Clon Brulee, Complicit, Market Share, Sirius Prospect and the Andrew Balding-trained Intransigent, who has a 4lb penalty because of a Listed success at Lingfield in November.
