Siege Of Carthage scores for Halley and Enright Gambled Siege Of Carthage (9s — 4/1) was the easy winner of Limerick’s Eddie Noonan Groundworks Maiden Hurdle today, scoring eased-down for trainer Josh Halley, jockey Philip Enright and the Whacker’s Clan Syndicate. The race was the fourth of the day, but was the first to have had markers in place preventing jockeys circumventing watered areas, and having also raced wide, Siege Of Carthage won eased-down by 20 lengths from Latopix . Halley wasn’t present and afterwards Enright said “he is a fine big horse, he was always nice since he was younger but just has had a few problems. They have nursed him back and he had a lovely run in a bumper in Gowran the last day, where Aine Connolly gave him a beautiful ride and said he’d come on a lot from it. “He had run in a point-to-point (in 2024) and had a lot of schooling done so we were hoping he’d run a good race. I’m not sure what they’ll do now as Josh is a seller but he’ll have no problem jumping fences too.”
