Signal scopes dirty after French flop An unsatisfactory scope taken from The Wow Signal could have played a part in his poor show at Longchamp on Sunday. The previously unbeaten colt, trained in North Yorkshire by John Quinn, stopped quickly in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and finished last of nine runners. A possible excuse has been found, though, with connections now keen to train the young son of Starspangledbanner as a Classic contender next season. Quinn told the Daily Mail: "He didn't scope too clean after the race and is a bit jaded. "We will build him back up and probably look to run him in one of the Guineas trials, either the Greenham or the Craven Stakes."
