The Dermot Weld-trained Silver Kiss (1/1 fav) was a deserved winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden for rider Chris Hayes. The daughter of Saxon Warrior has had five starts on the track and has not finished outside the top three once, and she was just touched off by the Paddy Twomey-trained The Good Wife on her latest start. She took matters into her own hands today, travelling well throughout the contest, and just inside the final furlong she built up a length lead ahead of the Joseph O'Brien-trained Light of Saxony, as she strode on to win by one and a quarter lengths.

Speaking after the race, jockey Chris Hayes said: "It was very tactical and I was happy to sit on the outside, to control it. I kicked turning in and was in front turning in, but I thought it was the winning of the race.

"She is a lovely, consistent filly, deserved to get her turn and I'd imagine that will be her finished for the year. I could see her running in the Athasi Stakes (early May). She wouldn't want the ground to be any slower than today."
