Simenon goes to Cork The Willie Mullins trained globetrotter Simenon will appear on an Irish racecourse for only the second time in almost four years when he contests the Family Day Out August 1st Hurdle at Cork on Friday evening. The Wicklow Bloodstock owned nine-year-old was last seen in Ireland when winning the Grade 3 Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary this time two years ago and the once 147 rated jumper has been given an ideal opportunity to regain the winning thread. Ruby Walsh, who takes the ride tomorrow, has won twice before on Simenon and both those victories were at Cork. Mullins also saddles former Grade 1 winner McKinley in the Cork race and the Gigginstown Stud owned six-year-old will be the mount of Brian Cooper.
