Simple Verse set for Coronation Cup Trainer Ralph Beckett has confirmed his Classic heroine Simple Verse an intended runner in the Investec Coronation Cup at Epsom. The four-year-old enjoyed a spectacular campaign in 2015, progressing from an all-weather maiden win at Lingfield to claiming the St Leger at Doncaster and the Group One British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot. She ran a perfectly respectable race when runner-up in last month's Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on her seasonal bow and while she holds entries in the Gold Cup and the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, she is set to appear on Derby day. "Simple Verse is in good form and came out of her race at Newmarket well," said Beckett. "She has more options than an unemployed football manager, but I think we're going to have a go at the Coronation Cup. "We'll see what happens at Epsom and go from there."
