Sire tops Spirit sextet Sire De Grugy could face up to five rivals when he makes his reappearance in Saturday's Betfair Price Rush Chase at Newbury. Last year's Queen Mother Champion Chase hero has not been seen in action this season, but is set to make his return in this weekend's Grade Two event, better known as the Game Spirit, before defending his crown at Cheltenham in March. Speaking in his Betway blog, trainer Gary Moore said: "Sire De Grugy did his final piece of serious work this morning ahead of Saturday's Game Spirit and I'm delighted with what I saw." He went on: " He's ready for Newbury now but, don't get me wrong, he'll come on for the run and there's still a little bit left to work on. "But he's fit enough to do himself justice. Jamie (Moore) rode him this morning and he was really pleased. We covered bits of the gallops overnight and after a power harrowing, the gallop was riding quite deep. "Sire De Grugy will do nothing between now and the race. "I'm not worried about a small field as long as there's some pace." Sire De Grugy's potential opponents after the race was reoffered include Alan King's Uxizandre, the Paul Nicholls-trained duo of Mr Mole and Vibrato Valtat, Pauline Robson's Upsilon Bleu and Karinga Dancer from Harry Fry's yard.
