Six-Time Turf Winner Features In Dundalk Lucky 15 Tips There's a midweek card from Dundalk on Wednesday afternoon, with eight races due off on the Co Louth Polytrack. They get underway at Dundalk from 1.45 with the last race due to go at 5.20 and we've put together a Lucky15 selection for the action on the golden highway. Lucky15 — Dundalk, Wednesday November 5th 1.45 Dundalk — Sporting Hero 2.45 Dundalk — Local Lad 4.20 Dundalk — Hugo's Girl 4.50 Dundalk — Blackjack Hills 1.45 Dundalk — Sporting Hero The opener is a 6f claiming event and this drop in grade should present a big chance for Sporting Hero to get back to winning ways. Denis Hogan's five-year-old is a six-time winner on synthetic surfaces, all at 5f/6f, with four of those successes coming around this track. The most recent of those was a 5f handicap off a mark of 82 in February this year under this rider. He's been a little below his best in two recent turf runs, though soft ground can be attributed in some way to explain those efforts and the conditions of this race heavily favour him, while his rider can take off a nice chunk of weight to further ease his burden in his quest to win this race for the second year running. 2.45 Dundalk — Local Lad Trainer Gerard O'Leary will be eager to see Local Lad shed his maiden tag in the Student Race Day At Dundalk Stadium Maiden over 7f. He debuted last year in Group 3 company at the Curragh over 6f and ran a blinder behind classy pair Arizona Blaze and Camille Pissarro but he hasn't delivered on that promise. He handled the Polytrack at Kempton in March when running a sound race in a Conditions event where a trio of solid horses beat him. His two turf runs since coming back from a break were on testing ground and this set-up should suit much better. A replication of his Kempton run should suffice. 4.20 Dundalk — Hugo's Girl A mile is the trip for this Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap that is race six on the card and Thomas Dowling's filly Hugo's Girl is fancied to run a big race. The Coulsty filly is an 11-race maiden but she has run her best races at this venue and there have been promising efforts over 6f/7f on the Polytrack. She was beaten less than two lengths when fifth in a handicap over 7f here in September back from a short break in a race that has produced a trio of subsequent winners and then posted fourth in maiden company over the same trip last month. A mark of 66 is within range and Wesley Joyce takes 3lb off in the saddle. She could land her win if seeing out the mile effectively. 4.50 Dundalk — Blackjack Hills Barretstown is another contender going for a repeat success in a race he won last year but Conor O'Dwyer's gelding won here last time out and a 6lb rise could prevent him retaining this prize. Blackjack Hills also won recently, the Ribchester gelding showing improved form in first-time blinkers to score at Gowran Park over a mile on testing ground. He was tenacious in that win and fully merited his breakthrough success. He, too, is 6lb higher but Matthew Smith's three-year-old has more scope for improvement on his Polytrack debut with the headgear retained.
