Favourite backers were again left reeling after the Bet Responsibly At Novibet Maiden Hurdle, with hot favourite Shannon Royale overturned by Skradin

A runner-up on two of his last four starts, the Conor O'Dwyer-trained victor was sent off a 3/1 chance, with Gordon Elliott's Shannon Royale returned the clear market leader at 30/100.

Ridden by O'Dwyer's son Charlie, the winning son of Let The Lion Roar made all and raced in a clear lead throughout.

While briefly closed upon approaching two out, he went on again before the last and extended his advantage on the run-in, coming home seven-lengths to the good for owner Hugo and Anne Kane.

The aforementioned favourite raced in second throughout and finished in that position, with Cedar Wood (80/1) a further eight-lengths back in third.

Earlier on the card, King Of Kingsfield also trained by Elliott and ridden by Jack Kennedy, was overturned at the odds of 2/5.

"He’s the funniest horse in the world as he nearly always runs (keenly) for a furlong or two and with just nine runners he wasn’t going to be able to drop in. They say the best ones have a quirk in them!" the winning trainer commented.

"I bought him off Davy Fitzgerald and he said once he gets right mentally he has a lot of ability. He's still maturing but he jumped great and travelled well.

"We won't rush him and a handicap might suit him better with a good pace but that was the plan to try and win a maiden."
