William Haggas’ swift raid on Naas proved successful as Sky Majesty justified strong market support to land the Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3) under in-form rider Tom Marquand.

A winner on her last start over this course and distance, Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy’s filly raced prominently throughout this contest. She was pushed along over 2-furlongs out and soon progressed to pick up the lead from California Dreamer and Gutsy girl over one-furlong out.

This daughter of Blue Point was always doing enough to keep the staying on Vespertilio at bay. She kept on well inside the final furlong to win by a length and three quarters at odds of evens.

Tom Marquand, “She was obviously good over here the last day, but it was a muddling pace and slower ground which helped her a lot.

“She was a Group 2 winner last year and is coming back to herself now. She felt fantastic there today off a much better pace.

“They will be looking to get some Group 1 form into her and she is shaping back as if that is realistic. She’s really improving on into the deep end of the season.”
