Slade Power 'working well' The Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh is the likely seasonal starting point for Slade Power. Eddie Lynam's exciting young sprinter has won four of his seven career starts, including twice at Listed level. He suffered an injury when finishing down the field on his final start of 2012 in the Qipco British Champions Sprint at Ascot, but is set to return to competitive action on May 25. "He's working well and hopefully he'll be going for a bit of a canter after racing at the Curragh on Monday," said Lynam. "He cracked his pelvis in Ascot on his last run but he seems to have got over it and, all going well, the plan is to bring him back to the Curragh for the Greenlands Stakes. "That's a nice place for him to start back and we'll see where we go after that. "He's already won two stakes races, so he's not too far away. "He needs to improve maybe another 7lb to be competitive at the top level." Already proven in Group One company is stablemate Balmont Mast, who ran a fantastic race to finish a close second in the Golden Shaheen on Dubai World Cup night at Meydan. He is next bound for Singapore, after which the Breeders' Cup meeting in America is the long-term goal. Lynam said: "He's in good form and he'll probably go to the Curragh on Monday for a canter. "After Dubai he received an invite to run in the KrisFlyer Sprint in Singapore so he's going out there for that. "He's a horse we've always thought a lot of. It's just taken a while for things to fall into place for him. "He's had a busy autumn, winter and spring, so he'll go to Singapore and then give him a bit of a break with a view to bringing him back for something like the Breeders' Cup."
