Slemish enjoyed a comfortable success in Downpatrick's handicap chase over an extended two miles three furlongs.

The 7/2 shot improved to lead at the penultimate fence and strode nine and a half lengths clear at the line under Jamie Codd. Allduckornodinner the 3/1 favourite, came in second after being headed by the winner. Honest Robber (8/1) completed the placings in third, some four and three quarter lengths away.

Declan O'Farrell from Ashbourne represented the owners (Ann & Alan Potts Limited) and said: "Jim's horses are in great form, he had a winner yesterday (Sizing Rome).

"The ground was very hard earlier in the year so Jim wouldn't run them on it. He was only off waiting for his ground.

"He gave Jamie Codd a lovely spin, he would be very lucky. He had a great Cheltenham so it is rubbing off!"

Trainer Jim Dreaper was leading the horse up.
