Sly Dismisses Speciosa Scare

Speciosa remains on course for Royal Ascot after trainer Pam Sly reported no problem with the filly who pulled off a shoe yesterday.

The 1000 Guineas winner goes for the Coronation Stakes over a mile next Friday after finding the Oaks trip too far when fourth to Alexandrova at Epsom.

'She's fine. She's done two canters this morning,' said Sly.

Sly dismissed newspaper reports that the filly had been a doubt for Royal Ascot.

'There was never really a scare. She just pulled a shoe off yesterday morning, that's all. I don't know where all the nonsense came from,' she added.
