There was a measure of compensation for Mag Mullins after the earlier loss of Motown Girl when Dumhach Thra put up a lovely performance under Jody Townend to convincingly land the concluding David Flynn (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Tramore.

Riding her second winner on the racecourse proper, Miss Townend did a grand job of 'anchoring' Dumhach Thra (a half-brother to a promising recent winner in Devil's Glen) and she had loads of horse when required at the business end to slam Hammerstein by seven lengths.

"He is a lovely horse, he had a lovely run in Punchestown," commented the winning trainer.

"His mother won on good ground. so we said we'd wait for a bit of nice ground for him. He done it lovely and smart, he couldn't have done it any better.

"He jumps really well, he went around in a schooling hurdle and done it smashing. I just think he is a nice horse. I like him a lot.

"It was a pity what happened Motown Girl, she was a very well-bred mare. Nobody was hurt though, and we roll on to the next one. That's the game we are in.

"Jody gave him a lovely ride. A few of the girls are gone now. Katie O'Farrell was meant to ride him but she was banned today, so she will be a bit disgusted.

"We were wondering who we'd get so Danny suggested Jody. She was good and didn't panic. She gave him a very cool ride, I was impressed now.

"She is a lovely mannered girl from a great family. I remember her going pony racing and she used to go everyday with her little grey pony.

"Paul (Townend, her brother) rode him work the other day and said he was flying it."

The Stewards fined John W. Nicholson, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Eos (FR), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 90(iv) and ordered the withdrawal of Eos(FR).
