Small field Falmouth in prospect The big names are all in the line-up for next Friday's Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes, but it's quality over quantity with just five horses confirmed. Last year's winner and runner-up, Giofra and Elusive Kate, are both on course to renew rivalries, while dual Royal Ascot winner Duntle is also in the line-up. But that trio will have to give weight away to three-year-olds Sky Lantern and Purr Along, the former bidding to win the fourth Group One contest of her career after successes in the Moyglare Stud Stakes, 1000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes. Richard Hannon junior has reported Sky Lantern to have come out well of her last victory and is looking forward to seeing her take on older rivals for the first time. Meanwhile, Giofra's trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre has expressed reservations over the going at Newmarket, saying: "I might run Giofra. She's very well, but she needs good ground." The going at the track is currently given as 'good to firm' with watering having taken place on Friday.
