Neo Smart knuckled down well to land the spoils in the Racing TV Handicap at the Curragh for Jim Bolger.

Declan McDonogh produced the 4/1 favourite with a strong run to gain a narrow advantage inside the final furlong.

The Belardo filly stuck to her guns well in the closing stages to post a half-length win over Showhound

It was a second career success for Neo Smart and Bolger’s travelling head man Ger Flynn said:-

“She’s in again on Wednesday at Gowran Park and all being well she’ll probably go again, but that’s down to the boss.

“She was due that, she’s been running well. She ran well the last day in Leopardstown to finish fourth and Ross (Coakley) was very happy with her.

“Today with Verhoyen going off in front and going a clip it suited her.

“It’s good to get her back because she’s showing us now on the track what she shows at home.

“Declan said he was always getting there and she’s gutsy.

“She’s a nice filly, she’s tall and still maturing.”
