Matthew Smith got the better of his brother Kevin, with La La Lucrative (16/1 from 25s) leading home Blue Wood in the McGowan Accountancy Services Handicap.

A winner at Leicester in October when in the care of Gemma Tutty, the successful Profitable four-year-old was subsequently bought by Smith for 7,000 pounds.

Failing to make a significant impact in four starts prior to this win, the 55-rated bay broke smartly under Robbie Colgan and had all his rivals off the bridle from the two-furlong pole, finding plenty for pressure in the closing stages to score by three-and-a-half lengths.

The aforementioned Blue Wood (9/1) filled the runner-up spot under Wesley Joyce, while Cherry Pink (7/2), successful over the course and distance last Monday, was another half-a-length away in third.

Returned the 3/1 favourite, Si Senior finished a disappointing seventh.

"I thought the ground might be a bit quick to be honest. He's a hardy little horse. I knew it was safe but I thought he wanted softish ground," Smith commented.

"He wouldn't really show you a whole lot at home. He can get a bit revved up and leave the race behind him beforehand and be a bit keen so I'm happy with that."
