Pat Smullen feels Rock Critic may face a tough task at the weights in the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot on Wednesday.

Dermot Weld's charge has been progressing well and was the impressive winner of a conditions event at Tipperary last month.

"He's a very consistent horse and he has a chance," said Smullen.

"He's a big horse and he's well able to cope with being knocked around in a big field.

"He is very exposed and has plenty of weight, so he has it all to do, but I'd expect him to be competitive in a very open race.

"He handles a bit of cut, but he's a better horse on drier ground."
