Sneddy Eddie stays on best for Kennedy The Gordon Elliott-trained Sneddy Eddie (7/1) was a gutsy winner of the Join Us For Ladies Day Handicap Hurdle. The six-year-old son of Churchill was fourth on his latest start over hurdles in Kilbeggan and stayed on well in the closing stages, having hit the lead before the last, to keep the Gavin Cromwell-trained My Good Pal in second by a length and a quarter. Speaking after the race, jockey Jack Kennedy said: "Nice for him to get that. "We thought that the step up in trip would suit him and it did. "He wasn't travelling great early - he's a little bit of a monkey and has a mind of his own. I kind of passed one going out on the last circuit and he started travelling. "I probably ended up there plenty soon. Just when I had him going, I didn't want to stop him. Thankfully, we held on. "He would always kind of keep doing enough. "It was good ground earlier but it (rain) is getting into it a little bit. I kept out a bit there off the chopped-up ground and it seemed to suit him." (Quotes from Michael Graham)
