Solerina´s Half Brother Tops Breeze Up At Dundalk Strong trade throughout Goffs National Hunt Breeze Up Sale at Dundalk was topped by a half brother to Multiple Grade 1 winner and Champion Race mare Solerina and the Grade 1 placed Florida Coast. The son of Luso from Coolstown Stud put in an impressive breeze and fetched EUR150,000 when knocked down to Declan Gardiner - doubling the top price of last year´s sale topper.Bobby O´Ryan, the day´s second leading purchaser, signed for next top lot of the sale, Court Stud´s Accordion own brother to high class performers Gotno Destination and Morgansaccord, for EUR95,000. While Paddy O´Connell went to EUR62,000 to secure a gelding by Son Of Sharp Shot from Dromond, and earlier in the sale Margaret O´Toole paid EUR60,000 for Bridgetown House Stables´ Karinga Bay gelding out of an own sister to Listed winning and Grade 1 placed Super Coin.Commenting at the conclusion of today´s sale, Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:'The strength of this sale shows that Breeze Up Sales at Dundalk are a very bright prospect. The surface, location and facilities are absolutely ideal. This sale has laid strong foundations for a very promising future'.Aggregate of EUR1,081,500 was a 21% increase on last year´s Goffs National Hunt Breeze Up, while average also increased from EUR25,571 in 2007 to EUR26,378. An impressive clearance rate of 63% increased considerably on 2007´s 49%.
