The Willie Mullins-trained En Beton (10/1) made all to land the Tote.ie Home Of The Placepot Beginners Chase on his seasonal debut.

The Cheveley Park Stud-owned winner had his much better-fancied stable companion Egality Mans (11/10 fav) off the bridle and starting to struggle when Paul Townend’s mount clipped the top of the second-last and came down.

From that point the victorious son of Network, who won a Tramore maiden hurdle on his final outing last term, was untroubled to account for Everglow by 21 lengths with the rest of his rivals well strung out on the testing ground.

Winning rider Danny Mullins said: “That was a good performance, he jumped great. For a first-timer over fences he was taking lengths out of the field which allowed me to just keep filling him up.

“He gave a blow after the line and hopefully he’ll step up from that. You would think looking at him he would always be a chaser and from what he showed there it looks like it is going to be his game.”

Paddy Power gave the winner an opening quote of 12/1 for the National Hunt Chase.
