Solness adds Flat win to his CV Classy chaser Solness justified his short price when adding a Flat win to his CV in the concluding SIS Maiden at Bellewstown this afternoon. Joey Sheridan was soon disputing on the 4/7 favourite in the mile-and-a-half contest and he went on from Fairylike half-a-mile from home. Solness was asked for an effort running to the two pole and kept on well in the closing stages to post a five-and-a-half length win over Mississippi Shine. It was a third start on the level for the three-time Grade 1 winning chaser. Sheridan said: "It looked a very good opportunity for him. He gave me a very good feel. "We went a right good gallop for the ground and from three (furlongs) out he was lengthening the whole way to the line. "He's obviously a very classy horse over jumps and it is a big pleasure to have won on him and Banbridge. I'm a big National Hunt fan, watching them winning at Christmas and that. "Big thanks to Neil Sands (Bronsan Racing) and Joseph for letting me ride them because they are very classy horses over jumps. They look like they could do very well on the Flat too."
